Valve/Tube Bass Amp with low wattage valve output stage for true valve/tube output distortion plus a 400W solid state power amp.

The DHA VTX-400-Bass is a valve/SS 400W hybrid amp with a difference as there is a real valve output stage and output transformer. The 2-3W NOS EL90 output valve running in single-ended Class A drives an output transformer into an external speaker cabinet or internal dummy load. The signal at the dummy load which is rich in valve harmonics is then returned to Line and DI Levels for amplification by an external PA or used for direct recording or used to drive the internal Class D 400W solid state power section.

This is a true valve amplifier that produces both pre-amp and output valve distortion and warmth that only valves give plus a super clean 400W solid state power section.

The 2-3W valve power stage will drive a speaker cabinet for home and recording use. The DI and line outputs are both taken after the valve output stage for true valve output stage warmth and harmonics.

The pre-amp section includes a valve driven FX loop with a wet/dry blend, tuner mute, active EQ with Q plus clean and overdrive channels. There a LED VU meters on both the input an output levels and optional footswitch for control of the selectable features.

Two versions of finish are available - the hand painted version as shown or the silkscreened version, both cost the same so just let us know when ordering.

Features

Two stage valve pre-amp with i/p level, overdrive, gain, treble, mid, bass, Q, clip switch (Si/Ge or none), fat switch, bright switch, Fx send, Fx Blend, FX return, DI level, Line level, Valve Drive, Master.

Three 12ax7 (ECC83) pre-amp valves and one EL90 (part of the EL84/EL34 family) output stage valve used. The EL90 power stage can be by-passed so the 400W power stage is either driven by pre-amp or the pre-amp plus the EL90 stage.

Selectable 400W Class D solid state power section with 2 speakon connectors. 400W Clip LED on front panel.

Clean and overdrive channel selection. A extra valve pre-amp stage is used when overdrive is selected and the overdrive pot is then enabled to select the overdrive amount.

LED VU meters on both input and output.

Stand by and on/off switch.

Valve stage speaker out (4, 8, 16 ohm select) and the internal dummy load is automatically selected when the valve speaker cable is removed.

DI and line out with level controls.

3 band active EQ controls with Q.

Valve driven FX loop with blend, send and return levels. Selected via footswitch or front panel with LED indicator.

Tuner mute, jack on front and back panels - footswitch and front panel operated.

19" 2U rack with front panel valve vent with blue backlight.

Colour coded knobs and LEDs for each function.

220Vac Mains operation.

Valve and o/p transformer protection.
